In praise of grandparents
After my last parent died, I began sorting and scanning photos.
I found this one -- a tiny photo, although it had wide white borders the image itself was just over 1.5 inches square.
I recognized my maternal grandparents but who was the little kid? I looked closer. The little kid was ME!
I imagine that my dad took this photo but I doubt that he would have realized the impact it would have on me when I found it over 50 years later. I scanned, printed, and framed it.
